In continuation from previous post we can now begin the deployment of Horizon Mirage, After getting all the prerequisites that is we must make sure all the Hardware, Network ports and Operating systems requirements are fulfilled.
1) Install the Mirage Management server
Prerequisites :
Before you install this component make sure you have SQL server up and running, we must provide a new instance, or connect an existing instance while deploying Mirage Management server. Also we must provide a new Storage Area for Mirage Storgae ~250 GB
STEP 1 : Double Click and Install Mirage Management Server and Accept EULA
STEP 2 : Provide SQL instance and Create New Storage Areas
STEP 3 : Choose the default location to install Mirage management server and Click Next , Choose Use Local System Account and provide administrators group of registered domain details as shown below
STEP 4 : Choose whether or not you want to participate in CEIP , Click Next and Install , wait for the installation to complete .
2) Install the Mirage server
Prerequisites :
Ideally we must import the CA signed certificate to personal folder for Mirage Server and provide a new Local Cache Area ~100 GB. Always have more than one instance of Mirage server for a truly enterprise distributed architecture, Here for a PoC we can use single instance of Mirage Server.
STEP 1 : Install Mirage Server and Accept EULA Click Next , Provide the SQL instance and Create New Mirage Server Local Cache and Click Next
STEP 2: Make a note of the Certificate Issuer and Subject Names by opening the certificate and checking the Details Tab, Provide the details as shown below
STEP 3 : Provide the Mirage Administrator Credentials and Click Next and Install and Click Finish after successful installation
3) Install the Mirage Web Management
Prerequisites :
At this stage we must have all IIS and ASP.NET features enabled for Mirage Web Management.
STEP 1: Install Mirage Web Management and Accept EULA Click Next , Provide the IP address or in our case localhost and Choose defaults in the Ports section and Click Next
STEP 2 : Choose Next in SSL Certificate page , and Click Install and Finish after successful installation
4) Install the Mirage File Portal
Prerequisites :
We must create virtual directory and bind it to 7443 port in IIS for end users to download their secured VM on to endpoint
STEP 1 : Install Mirage Web Access and Accept EULA Click Next , Choose Defaults in Web Access and Admin Web Access and Click Next
STEP 2 : Provide the IP address or in our case localhost and Choose defaults in the Ports section and Click Next
STEP 3 : Choose Next in SSL Certificate page , and Click Install and Finish after successful installation
5) Install the Mirage Management Console
Prerequisites :
Provide the Flex/Mirage Server license as soon as you open the Console, and then connect to Mirage Server
STEP 1 : This is pretty straight forward Accept EULA , Click Next and Install and Finish after successful Installation
6) Connect the console to the Mirage System
We can then start configuring Flex VM in Flex Admin Console.
